April 16, 2012

Buenas tardes! I write unfortunately a little sick. The weather is really sketchy right now--one day its super hot, the next cloudy, the next theres a bunch of wind. I think that has something to do with it. I dont know how true it is but all the mexicans think alot about how weather changes make people sick. Who knows? but ive got a pretty bad cough and i feel weak. But its all good. Well i am going to start by answering questions: Mom....the truth is that i dont know how Yaneth is doing. Shes still in the hospital and awaiting the money so that she can have her operation. Thats Mexico for ya--say what you will about the whole Obama healthcare dealy, but the whole healthcare stuff here suck--she has to wait to have surgery until they have the money. But today we got word that we can visit her once a week which is cool. So im thinking we are going to go tomorrow or wed to see how shes doing and leave her with a spirtiual confidence booster. Wit hthe whole marriage thing--we were going to go marry them but then she got sick the night before--we were waiting for her baby daddy haha to get a paper and he got it so when she gets better shes good to go. But who knows how long shes going to be in the hospital :( ...thats awesome that E.Hallstrom came. I loved his talk from GC. He was so direct talking about the church and its organization: " There is nothing like this Church in all the world." I loved that. We had the opportunity this week to give talks in sacrament meeting. I talked a little bit about the miracle of the daughter of Jairus. Dice, " 41 ¶And, behold, there came a man named aJairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: 42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. 49 ¶While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the amaiden.52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth 53 And they alaughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. 54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway." I dont know how well i did but i explained that sometimes we are like the people there--they laughed at Jesus cause of what he said. Sometimes we think "I am not going to share the gospel wit hmy neighbor, she smokes and drinks and is a bad person--shell never accept the gospel. But we have to have the attitude that Jesus had--Fear not, believe only, and the people shall be made whole. I hope that the few members that were there were able to feel the spirit of the message....we do drink water--not from the tap--we have to buy it in jugs. But too late haha--im already sick....(worldly alert) I literally got chills when i read that about the Dodgers. Im not going to make any predictions cause i dont wanna jynx it but it would happen right when im not there to watch it. Maybe if we get down to Oct youll have to hold off from telling me about it so that i dont get unfocused. But for now tell me all about it haha. And by the way, you never told me who won it all in college basketball. Now that i think about it you didnt tell me about college football either haha....O Stephen, major props. I dont even know who the girl is. Im sure i do but i dont remember. What ward is she in?....About the rings; dont worry about exchanging it. It works fine. I think im going to give the five that i have to Miriams kids. Thatll make em happy--ill tell you more about them in a sec. But i would like some more of those--there was an elder that gave out those rings--but he gave them to his companions. It was kind of a sign--oh youre cool enough to get a ring from E. Ames haha. Wow this paragraph is super long haha....Dad, (if you want a translation, talk to dad or consult Google translator) todos estan hablando de los temblores que estan pasando en todo Mexico.

Well thats all i got for you all. I hope you have an awesome week and that you can have chances to share the Gospel with everyone. ¡Que tengan buena semana!

--Elder Crisp ;)

I completely forgot to inform you that we baptized this week two more of Miriams kids and everyone (except her "husband") are super excited. Unfortunelty i dont have a camera and my comp literally doesnt have one but one of the elders in my district took pics so youll get to see them at some point. Now Angelica (12), Jose Luis (10) and Araceli (8) have been baptized. Now were only missing Miriam and her husband. WE are going to work with her husband so that at least he feels that he needs to get married. Have a great week!
