Elder Ethan Crisp

Wow. This week was absolutely awesome. Friday, we had a multizone conference with Elder Octaviano Tenorio, 2nd counselor in the Mexico Area Presidency and member of the 1st quorum of the Seventy. He talked about specific prayers--i dont know how that should translate--but he talked about how we should specify our prayers like the brother of Jared. He told a story of an elder who had 21 months in the mission. He accidently left his wallet and his scriptures and his camera in a taxi and it drove off--all that he would have as souvenirs for the rest of his life. So he prayed and he presented the idea the Heavenly Father. He was going to go and wait outside an OXXO (its like 7 Eleven here in Mexico) and hold a sign that said "Im looking for my wallet" and he would wait for an hour. So they went and stood outside by the street and waited. With 58 minutes waiting he told his companion "well it wasnt meant to be." Right as he said that a taxi pulled into the parking lot and the driver opened the door and said "I have your stuff--and im christan--I didnt take anything." E. Tenorio also told the story of the servant of Abraham who was asked to look for a wife for Isaac. You can read the story and find the application--thats your homework haha. Its in GEnesis 24: 3-27 (verse 14 is the key hint hint). It was awesome and i am going to apply it and see what happens. We are gonna find many more people to teach because right now we dont have much--but we are trying.

I am so glad to hear that Josh got baptized (you didnt tell me about that but i forgive you haha). Its good that Jeremy is taking Josh to church and all that and that he baptized him--that makes me happy. One question, did Katie go? I was wondering that. Tell Josh congrats and give him a big hug for me. I have to say i am VERY surprised after seeing the pics of Stephen and Leslie--it is very surprising in many ways. But major props, Steve. Major props.

Well, Im running out of time but i just wanted to say how grateful i am for your constant support. Its super weird to think that in 24 days i am gonna finish up a year here in the mission. Its gone ridiculously fast and they say that it only goes faster and faster so really ill be home before i know it but thanks to all of you for your support and your letters. Now im sure its the moment that mom has been waiting for the whole week. Im going to take the call from the house of a member. The number is 6677106170. Of course youre gonna have to put the country code but you already know how. We are going to have 1 hour so have your questions ready to go so that we can get em all answered. Call at 4pm (4pm there as in Pacific Standard Time--it will be 5 pm here). Just to be sure have Dad make the call so that if there is a problem with the time he can talk with the member. But there shouldnt be a problem. Remember you call at 4 YOUR time. Okay? Okay.
